This short film was shot during May and June of 2013 in Iceland. The trip was how I celebrated my college graduation and my one year anniversary of buying a camera. I lived in my car for four weeks, driving as it rained and shooting when the weather permitted. Almost all of the shots were taken between 10:30pm and 4:30am as the Midnight Sun glowed golden and pink. In total, I shot roughly 40k pictures and drove about 3000 miles. Iceland is a breathtaking country and there were so many places I failed to capture but remain a humbling part of my trip.
“There is something about doing this sort of stuff that just makes you want to keep coming back for more and more. Maybe it’s the experience of being out there at one with the incredible beauty of this landscape. Maybe it’s the challenge of capturing it in the camera in the way that you witnessed it. Maybe it’s the excitement of seeing just what you got when you finally render it all out. Maybe it’s the satisfaction you get out of showing this to other people. Most probably it’s a combination of all these things.” -Bevan Percival
