I navigated America’s most dangerous hike without GPS! The Maze in Canyonlands National Park has been described as a thirty square mile puzzle in sandstone, and I attempted to navigate through it with only a paper map and a basic compass!! Ranked by some as the most dangerous hike in the country for its extreme remoteness, lack of water sources, and difficulty navigating, The Maze has been on my list of must-do adventures for YEARS! It seemed like the perfect place to put my map and compass navigation skills to the test. In this video I finally got to tackle this map and compass navigation challenge!! As a bonus I’ll show you how to use a map and compass along the way. Can I escape The Maze using my map and compass navigation skills, or will I need to fall back on the latest GPS technology to find my way out? Watch the video to see!
