Doug Robinson is one of the coolest guys we know. A contemporary of Yosemite climbing greats like Tom Frost and Yvon Chouinard, Doug has witnessed and been part of the growth and innovation in climbing over the last 60+ years and he was kind enough to share his stories with us. In this interview Doug talks about how clean climbing was born. Pitons smashed into the rocks leave scares, and nuts & cams do not. He helped push the popularity of clean climbing decades ago and shares how the transition happened and his experience working at Chouinard Equipment, now known as Black Diamond Equipment.
