The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center (GNFAC) and the Friends of GNFAC teach a variety of avalanche safety classes across our advisory area in Southwest Montana, the Island Park area of Idaho, and beyond. Our goal is to save lives by providing avalanche education and information, and avalanche awareness classes and outreach are a key component in reaching this goal.
