The Keewaydin Environmental Education Center (KEEC) on Lake Dunmore in Salisbury VT is seeking environmental educators for our spring session beginning April 13th running through May 30th.
RESPONSIBILITIES: teach & work with small groups of 5th & 6th grade students Monday through Friday, in 5-day, 4 night, residential program focusing on human, plant and animal communities. Lead intensive field investigations & evening programs in natural science, local history, human impact, & land-use. Other responsibilities include daily dining hall meals & bi-weekly overnights in student cabins.
QUALIFICATIONS: motivation & enthusiasm for teaching children about the wonders of the natural world while role-modeling living in a caring and functional community. Applicants must possess a college degree and background in natural history, sciences, and environmental education. Staff must be at least 21 years of age, hold current CPR and First Aid certification, possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
COMPENSATION: $550/week plus room & board. Staff housing is in simplistic wood cabins close to the lake. Surrounding area is a beautiful mountainous playground. Opportunities exist for employment beyond the KEEC season at our summer camps, and potentially into the fall KEEC season through October 11th.
