Paul Nicolazzo of the Wilderness Medicine Training Center brings us Part 1 of a two-part series on COVID-19. Part 1 examines the epidemiology of COVID-19 while Part 2 focuses on the pathophysiology, signs, and symptoms. Epidemiology is the study and analysis of the distribution patterns of diseases in a population to determine the potential risk to the public and if an intervention is warranted. After watching this video you should have a basic understanding of why governments have implemented “Stay home. Stay healthy” orders, physical distancing, hand-washing, and face covering.
