On Monday September 26, 2022 world-renowned ski mountaineer Hilaree Nelson lost her life while attempting to ski from the 26,781-foot summit of Nepal’s Manaslu with her partner Jim Morrison. Hilaree was a trailblazer and mentor for countless women and men adventurers. We repost several of her videos here to honor her incredible life and accomplishments. Our condolences to her partner Jim, her family, and friends.

Here is the original YouTube description of this film
Our team athletes Hilaree Nelson, Conrad Anker, Jim Morrison, and Jimmy Chin (a team of the world’s most experienced and accomplished mountaineers) spent the month of January 2020 together on an expedition in Antarctica. Success is often remembered as achieving the summit. But as the team reached the top of Mt. Vinson and prepared to descend, unexpected conditions and risky circumstances revealed success to be something a bit different: survival. Join the athletes as they share lessons learned about exploration and following your passions, and the experiences that teach us that it’s not solely about the self. A big thanks to Antarctic Expeditions and Logistics for their support. Read about the expedition on The Approach: https://www.thenorthface.com/approach/in-this-together.html
