This is a full-time seasonal logistics position based in Durango, CO from 5/11/25 – 8/11/25 for a total of twelve weeks. Ideal applicants include those who are at least 21+ years old and have backcountry logistics, outdoor education, youth development, childcare, and/or summer camp experience!

Minimum Requirements:

At least 21 years old
Valid Driver’s License
Able to pass a federal and Colorado background check
Able to maintain a sanitary, food handling environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Backcountry logistics experience (food and gear)

Youth development or childcare experince
Outdoor education or guiding experience
Personal outdoor recreation experience especially backpacking
Summer camp experience

The Expedition Coordinator is responsible for planning menus and keeping and packing food and equipment for all expedition trips leaving camp. The Expedition Coordinator(s) do not attend trips, they manage our facility that is responsible for trip provisions. Food is packed following prescribed menu guidelines, and equipment includes standard camping gear (packs, stoves, fuel, cooking utensils, tents, etc.) as well as special equipment (bicycles, canoes, life jackets, paddles, etc.) We offer a wide variety of trips for all age levels (7-17). Some seasons we will hire an Assistant Expedition Coordinator, they must be at least 18 and their summer salary is $4500

Compensation:

We offer competitive compensation with Expedition Coordinators earning a minimum of $5,400 for a full twelve-week season (5/11/25 – 8/11/25). All staff receive free housing and meals for the duration of their contract. Staff can also apply for reimbursable Travel Allowances ($0.13/road mile), field/experience bonuses, a Rental Assistance Program, and will receive bonuses for relevant certifications such as Wilderness First Aid, First Responder, LNT, Lifeguarding etc. Please click here for a description of our bonuses and travel reimbursement information.
