POSITION SUMMARY: The Expeditions Coordinator supports the Expeditions Instructors with logistical support for campouts from pack out, to trip, to pack in. The main objective of expedition programming is to push perceived limits through exploration of places that are not readily accessible.
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
Support cabin groups and instructors as they prepare for campouts and expeditions, providing active supervision and attention to the physical and emotional wellbeing of campers during all on-duty hours.
Ensure Expeditions staff have the training and resources needed to provide age and ability appropriate campout activities for campers attending on-site expeditions and campouts.
Provide encouragement and support to campers and staff stepping out of their comfort zones in nature, helping them continue to experience new and extraordinary experiences.
Maintain the inventory of outdoor equipment and order necessary food from the kitchen for trips.
Communicate and enforce all expedition policies and procedures with staff and campers.
Actively participate in camp life and programming outside of expedition activities including evening activities, camper choice time, theme days, bus duty, and more.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is compensated at a rate of $800 per week, pre-tax. If this person is also a certified lifeguard, they will receive a $50 weekly lifeguard bonus during weeks worked, pre-tax.
Our summer seasonal staff are paid on a bi-weekly basis and are classified as exempt, seasonal employees.

REQUIREMENTS & CERTIFICATIONS
Must be able to reside in shared staff housing on the LVC resident camp property in Boscobel, WI starting with staff training in early June and ending after the last camp program lets out in mid-August.
Must be at least 18 to apply.
Current age-appropriate CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (PEAK will provide during staff training if needed)

The Expeditions Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Camp Programs & Expeditions
The Expeditions Coordinator will supervise the Expeditions Instructors
The Expeditions Coordinator may work closely with the Outdoor Living Skills Program Counselor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
The Expeditions program requires camping outside in a tent multiple times a session.
The camp environment is often hot, humid, or rainy. You must be able to work outside for sustained periods of time without air conditioning. Position requires standing, stooping, sitting, and walking long distances in hilly terrain.
Position requires working weekends and nights, with time off in between camp sessions. Camp days are often long and at times require late night camper support. Staff will have daily scheduled breaks.
Ability to react quickly to emergency situations with quick movements or strenuous action, to ensure the safety of campers and other staff members.
