Position Information
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Recreation for Outdoor Excursions and Ropes, the Team Building and Climbing Coordinator is a critical member of the Recreation programming team responsible for the development, management, oversight, and assessment of the Ropes program. These areas include the Challenge Course, Mobile Rock Wall, “The Rock” indoor climbing and bouldering facility, and driver and trailer training. Important duties include risk management, staffing and supervision, program development and implementation, and oversight and maintenance of facilities and equipment. The incumbent works closely with departmental, divisional, campus, and community partners to deliver client service-based programming aligned with campus goals at all levels.
The full salary range for the Team Building and Climbing Coordinator is $54,200 – $93,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $54,200 – $64,400 annually.
We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Minimum Requirements
Advanced proficiency in the use of computer applications relevant to job duties.
Skills to deliver highly effective service orientation, program management, and make sound judgments decisions; able to use critical thinking skills to develop original and creative problem solving ideas in a varied and challenging environment.
Demonstrates advanced client service leadership, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills to resolve non-standard issues.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization.
Advanced knowledge of program activity and best practices. Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve programs and processes as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Demonstrated ability to incorporate key program information for inclusion in web-based and other marketing materials.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of campus policies and procedures.
Familiar with risk management practices for team building and recreational climbing programs and facilities.
