Camp Skylemar seeks a challenge/ropes course director for the upcoming summer. Camp Skylemar is a 6-week summer program in Maine that brings together college students, coaches, and teachers who hope to positively impact the next generation. We seek a safety-minded, energetic, fun facilitator to direct high/low ropes course, climbing wall and team-building exercises. The director must have extensive experience with low ropes, high ropes, climbing and team building; feel comfortable leading games and speaking in front of groups of children. Director responsible for daily course preparation, lesson planning, maintaining safe environment, equipment inventory/safety checks, and organizing team building exercises. The course consists of a climbing wall, twelve low elements and seven high elements (including 200-foot zip line). The director will supervise college-aged staff of eight assistants.
Applicants must have current or the ability to obtain ACCT Level 2 safety certification. This certification requires 200 hours of previous ropes course experience.

We provide full scholarship for the children of our staff members, Salary of $6,500 – $7,500 for the season from June 7, 2023– August 7, 2023. As an ACA accredited camp, the ropes course director will adhere to high standards established by the directors of Skylemar and the American Camping Association.
