Ultra-runner, Majell Backhausen runs 273km, from Wandong to Mt. Baw Baw, crossing through the lands of the Taungurung, Wurundjeri and GunnaiKurnai people. Through his eyes, we experience the rare beauty of the Victorian Central Highlands in Australia and meet the determined individuals and organisations working tirelessly to protect these lands for the benefit of us all. These unique forests are home to the critically endangered Leadbeater’s Possum and the Baw Baw Frog, among many other creatures and plants found almost nowhere else on Earth. This film series explores the life of an unique and precious ecosystem on the doorstep of Melbourne and advocates for why its biodiversity, water, and culture should be protected.
