Would you be interested in traveling around New England , leading a co-ed group of campers ages 12-15 through planned adventure trips? We’re hiking, we’re white water rafting, we’re on a Sail boats, we’re on Cape Cod, we’re exploring New England, we’re sea kayaking, we’re rock climbing! 

Our Adventure Camp program consists of six unique five and a half day camping trips. Each trip begins and ends at YMCA Camp Coniston in Grantham, NH. 

We have 3 leaders who together focus on fun and safety to create the most memorable and best experience for the 12 campers on each trip!

The role of each Trip Leader is to actively engage all members of the group during the trip/travel so that there is a sense of community and respect of self and each other. We use professional outfitters for specialty activities such as rafting, climbing, kayaking, etc. The group camps at sites that are within close proximity to the daily activities.

Prior to the summer training and trips with campers, the Adventure Camp Leaders tour the seasonal International Staff around the local area for a few days to experience New England culture and become familiar with the area, and meet fellow Coniston staff.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of & experience in camping, tenting, campfire cooking, food planning & purchasing
• Good character, integrity, adaptability and good problem solving abilities necessary
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently during travel without direct supervision
• Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and passport, good driving record and able to drive the 15-passenger mini-bus
• Essential physical ability to prepare for, participate in, and lead campers the planned wilderness activities
• Required First Aid, CPR & AED certified before staff training (Camp will pay for training courses)
• One of the leaders must be Lifeguard Certified, Wilderness First Aid Certified (Camp will pay for training courses).

Salary/Benefits: $6500 including room and board
