The Mental Health Coordinator is a full-time, year-round position providing a broad range of culturally competent mental health services to its diverse population of participants within Maine Coast Semester, Elementary and Middle School, Outdoor Classroom, Waypoint, and Boys and Girls Camps throughout the year. The Mental Health Coordinator is the primary point of contact for children and adolescents, parents, staff, and other mental health professionals in all matters relating to participants’ mental health. The Coordinator provides individual support, crisis intervention, prevention services for participants, and ongoing education on those topics for faculty, staff, and participants.

The Mental Health Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Health Services and works in partnership with health services, and in close collaboration with staff, administrators, and faculty in the Chewonki community to support participants’ social, mental, and emotional wellness.
