Job Description

FALL CAMP ASSISTANT COUNSELOR

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated camp counselors to lead campers and help them navigate remote learning in a camp setting. Here at North Star, we understand that most of our counselors have school commitments of their own. The Assistant Counselor role is open to high school and college students looking to supplement their fall semester with leadership experience in a supportive, safe environment. North Star will offer student staff the resources and space to successfully complete their individual school requirements. Outside of school, the assistant counselors are responsible for assisting the Lead Cabin Counselor with the overall supervision of campers in the cabin and for filling in during instructional activities. Counselors sleep in the cabin in their own “counselor quarters” and will work together to create a fun, safe environment for the kids in their cabin. The assistant counselors will assist with mealtimes, morning and bedtime routines, and will serve as a mentor and a role model for their campers. Assistant counselors will also assist with running afternoon and evening activities. The Assistant Counselors will report to the Camp Directors, Program Directors, Village Directors, and camper parents.
