Specializing in Yosemite backpacking trips, day hikes and outdoor youth summer camps, Lasting Adventures has introduced thousands of youth to nature and wilderness experience through adventure-based programming. Working to ensure programs are meaningful, supportive, educational and fun, Yosemite Backpacking Guides facilitate youth backpacking summer camps and adventure-based outdoor education programs. Additional responsibilities include adequately preparing food and gear for each trip, unpacking and de-prepping after trips have returned from the field, and assisting and leading custom guide service programs and day trips as needed. The summer season starts with mandatory staff training during the first week of June. College degree in recreation or youth development is preferred. Wilderness First Responder or better and CA Food Handler’s Certifications are required for all guide positions. The CA Food Handlers Certification can easily be obtained online anytime during the application/hiring process. Opportunities to guide in National Parks outside of Yosemite may be available.
