Job Description

Mountain Workshop, based in Fairfield County, CT, is seeking motivated individuals to take part in our Fall Season of programs! This Fall we will facilitate programming for over 5,000 students, faculty, and school administrators from many area private schools and local public school districts focused on a variety of goals and objectives including:

                                       • Empathy and the Importance of Community
                                       • Improving School Climate
                                       • Leadership Skills
                                       • Understanding Civic Responsibility/Community Service

Interested parties will be trained to facilitate MW programs and gain invaluable opportunities for skill development in positive school climate, youth leadership, SEL, adventure, and experiential education activities. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates for or recent graduates with a degree in Outdoor Recreation, Adventure Recreation, Outdoor Education, Elementary or Secondary Education or a related field to gain hands-on experience working in the field with students in grades 4 -12. Facilitators will work closely with other industry professionals while receiving industry-competitive compensation. This is a great opportunity for networking and resume building!

Responsibilities:
Lead the facilitation of adventure and experiential education programs ranging in length from 1-5 days. (There is a possibility of overnights but not mandatory)

Requirements:
• Available for mandatory program training beginning August 16th
• Available Late-August through mid-October for program facilitation
• Available all-day Monday through Friday
• Acceptable criminal background and driving check
• Ability to work independently while closely supervising youths
• Must be comfortable working outdoors under varied environmental conditions with limited supervision

* All facilitator candidates must be fully vaccinated before they start training*
 

Availability:  Programs take place both on-campus at public and private schools throughout Fairfield County, CT as well as off-site at locations in Fairfield County, CT; Westchester County, NY; the Poconos, PA; the Berkshires, MA; and the Adirondacks, NY.  We operate both day and overnight programming (overnight availability is not required).
