ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Create, implement, and oversee all aspects of Frost Valley’s Adventure Programs. This position is the primary point person for all Adventure programs.
Handle logistics for all trips including meals, travel, vehicles, activities, and safety concerns.
Maintain and implement systems for information on all trips such as emergency binders, paperwork, waivers, etc.
Develop an annual budget. Project income, control expenses and purchasing, and prepare monthly financial reports. Meet or exceed revenue goals.
Create and implement a 12 month marketing strategy with deliverables.
Continue to review, update and keep Adventure risk management protocols, procedures and guidelines at industry standard.
Responsible for emergency and incident response for all Adventure Programs.
Assist to promote and sell Frost Valley Adventure Programs. Maintain a focus on camper recruitment year round.
Work with the Summer Camp Registrar to assist with reservations for all Adventure Programs.
Be the primary contact for parents and children enrolled in all Adventure Programs.
Develop new and cutting edge programs that will push Frost Valley into the forefront of the adventure and travel world.
Responsible for hiring, training, supporting and scheduling a team of seasonal summer staff including counselors, program staff, and specialty positions with a focus on all Adventure Programs.
Supervise, and evaluate all seasonal Adventure Program staff.
Manage all gear, food and trip logistics coming in and out of the Bud Cox Trip Center.
Ensure that the Adventure programs are meeting or exceeding the standards of the Department of Health, ACA, AEE and Frost Valley’s Program Quality Standards, as well as any other adventure industry standards that are applicable.
Be an active member of the Program Director Team at Frost Valley.
Responsible for executing the shared 2023 Organizational Goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Must be 21 years of age or older.
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
– Strong background in logistical planning, customer service, and group facilitation.
– Experience working with participants in an adventure and trips setting.
– Prior experience working in a camp or YMCA program setting is required.
– Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
– Be a strong leader and work well with others.
– Able to work in a team environment and cross function with other departments.
– Be able to maintain a flexible schedule that may include working evenings or
weekends, being on call as needed, and overnight travel periodically.
– Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
– Have a valid US driver’s license and be able to drive for Frost Valley.
