Overview:

Working as a Ropes Course Guide is a physically active job. Guides at Tree Top Sac must be always mindfully present and have strong customer service skills. Guides must quickly develop technical competency about our safety system and equipment in order to confidently set it up the course for use and teach and instruct guests of all ages to climb safely and have fun. We are looking for 2-3 part time (16-30 hrs./wk.) positions during the off season that may be able to turn into full time positions during the busier months.

Role:

The role of a Guide is to assist in successfully opening and running the courses and the grounds, ensure that guests are safe and having fun, provide friendly and confident assistance, and work with others on the team to maintain the grounds. This position will include opening the concessions building, set up reservations, check guests in, and operate the check-in counter and service visitors.

As a Guide and Guest Check-in personal, your responsibilities may include:

– Greeting customers

– Taking reservations, completing sales transactions, and checking in arriving guests

– Inspecting and fitting guide and guests’ safety equipment

– Monitoring, patrolling, and safety training

– Promoting a safe and fun environment

– Preparing food and drink orders

– Attending and becoming competent in relevant equipment safety training

Qualified applicants must:

– Must be 18 or older

– Able to work with all ages and orientations of people

– Capable of performing yardwork type tasks (weeding, shoveling, digging, cleaning)

– Be comfortable with heights

– Adhere to our participant safety requirements

– Be proactive and hard working

– Be able to remain calm and provide clear concise direction during a physically or mentally stressful situation

– Love the outdoors

– Have or acquire CPR certificate

– Have or acquire a food handlers’ certificate

– Have knowledge of or train in the use of an espresso machine and other café style equipment

Our team is made up of people with diverse backgrounds and a wide range of skills and specialties. We are searching for persons with experience in ropes course recreation or similar activities such as tree and rock climbing, arborist, working with school groups or team building groups. Having café, barista background skills is also preferred.

Pay Rate: $15/hour or more depending on experience and commitment

Pay Type: Hourly part time

Schedule: Monday-Sunday / Weekends and Holidays are required

Status: Part time, seasonal and temporary positions available that may lead to more hours during busy season
