Description: This is a transformative position, weaving together technical skills and relational ministry. Come to the beautiful Pacific Northwest for a season to play a lead role in giving youth the opportunity to experience God’s creation through adventures, and connecting those experiences to real-life situations they are facing. You will learn to guide young people on a variety of wilderness activities, work alongside our seasoned staff to design ministry programs, assist in group facilitation, and help with the logistical details behind each trip. Staff positions are paid, with funding for your position coming from a process called Ministry Partnership Development. You will receive resources and training from us and a personal coach who will set goals and walk through the process with you. This is a phenomenal opportunity to gain experience in outdoor leadership, and spend valuable time participating in missional work!
Responsiblities:
Prepare, facilitate and guide group discussions and activities
Pursue competency, certification, and a guide role in technical skill areas, such as Wilderness First Aid, whitewater rafting/kayaking, adn rock climbing
Execute operations projects and logistical tasks
Raise financial support prior to the summer to fund your ministry position (coaching and materials provided)
Qualifications:
At least 18 years old
A passion for sharing about Jesus Christ with others
Be willing to learn and adapt
Have a high level of relational skills (or desire to develop them)
A love for the outdoors
A full summer commitment (a second year is highly valued). Dates vary by location, and we are flexible with college schedules
A willingness to personally raise financial support for expenses and salary prior to the start of the summer (coaching and materials provided)
