Camp Mowglis is a non-profit summer camp for boys on Newfound Lake in New Hampshire running a full summer season program.
Trips are a big part of the Mowglis program. Dorms hit the trails every week on day hikes, and each dorm goes on two overnight trips. Base camping for the younger campers and backpacking for the older campers. Most of the ‘pack’ trips take place along the Appalachian Trail. Trips range from canoe paddles on lakes and flatwater rivers to hikes to summits above treeline. Most overnight trips are three days, and several of the older groups will go on three and four day backpacking trips. Trips are always run by at least two counselors. When not on the trail trip leaders help prep for trips and teach camping and outdoor skills at camp.
Season Benefits:
-Room and board from mid June – mid August
-A competitive camp salary
-Camp Uniform
-CPR and WFA Certification
-A chance to build your outdoor skills
Trip Leader Expectations:
We’re looking for someone who enjoy the outdoors, follows LNT (leave no trace), and is a good steward of the environment. Someone who makes time to get out into the backcountry and has some experience leading a group. Ideally, a trip leader will have a WFR and CPR. WFA and CPR are part of staff training for the entire staff.
