What we expect you will learn: experience teaching children ages 7-16, problem solving, class management skills, communication skills, working with co-workers/co-teachers, reflecting on your lessons, mentored by elementary/middle school teachers
Overview:
Looking for camp counselors who can instruct in all areas of pioneering/outdoor education for boys camp and girls camp.
Teach outdoor education/hiking/climbing tower/high ropes, archery
Share an appreciation and knowledge for the environment and nature
Hike the beautiful Adirondack Mountains, take campers on overnights, make fire, make s’mores, make friends
Will also live in a bunk with campers and have additional bunk responsibilities.
Supervision post plus bunk supervision 3-4 days per week.
3-4 nights out during the week, 1 day off per week (5 total).
**Outdoor staff will be trained and certified during staff orientation in order to run and supervise climbing tower and high ropes course. Training in ARC, Responding to Emergencies, First Aid, CPR will take place during staff orientation.
