Camp Skylemar seeks a ropes course director for the upcoming summer.  Skylemar is a well-established (since 1948) recreational summer camp, located in the Lakes Region of southern Maine. Located on a 240-acre wooded campsite overlooking the White Mountains and a beautiful spring-fed lake, Skylemar offers a nurturing atmosphere with an emphasis on FUN. Enrollment is limited to 200 boys from across the country as well as abroad, who attend for 6 weeks.  At Skylemar, you’ll be a leader while teaching, supervising, motivating and mentoring kids and staff.  Working at Skylemar is the experience of a lifetime.  You’ll create lifelong friendships and connections.

We seek a safety-minded, energetic, fun facilitator to direct high/low ropes course, climbing wall and team-building exercises.   The director must have extensive leadership, high ropes, climbing and team building experience; feel comfortable leading games and speaking in front of groups of children.  Director responsible for daily course preparation, lesson planning, maintaining safe environment, equipment inventory/safety checks, and organizing team building exercises.  The course consists of a climbing wall, twelve low elements and seven high elements (including 200-foot zip line). The director will supervise college-aged staff of eight assistants. 

Applicants must have current or the ability to obtain ACCT Level 2 safety certification.  This certification requires 200 hours of previous ropes course experience. 

Salary of $6,500 – $7,500 for the season from June 8, 2022 – August 8, 2022.  We also provide, travel expenses, housing, meals, WIFI, staff clothing and a laundry service.
