The COE Program Coordinators manage all aspects of Cornell Outdoor Education’s course programming for their assigned functional areas, focusing on COE’s mission to develop and mentor student leaders. The functional areas for this position are whitewater paddling, canoeing, sea kayaking, paddle boarding, recreational and mountain biking, and cross country skiing. (Paddling skills are essential. Biking and Skiing are preferred, but negotiable.) Other areas managed by the organization include, indoor and outdoor rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, first aid, leadership, hiking, trail running, backpacking, snow shoeing, caving, tree climbing, and individual contract/specialty courses. For the functional areas under their supervision, this role will hire, train, and supervise instructors, oversee program curriculum and safety, monitor budgets and finances, and provide overall course and contract management to deliver the best educational experience to our students and instructors. Additionally, the position will participate in staff training and leadership development, van driver training, marketing, website content management, and other duties that promote and serve the vision of our unit.
