Job Description

Spend your summer leading adventure trips for campers! Based near Rocky Mountain National Park but includes trips around the country.

 

Job Summary: The Trip Leader is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supervising in-camp activities and out of camp trips (Leadership Training, Trekker and Adventure programs). These groups typically consist of 8-10 campers. Adventure programs may include backpacking, mountain biking, horse packing, rafting or some combination. Trekker programs may include hiking, backpacking, climbing, surfing, or international trips. Minimum of 21 years of age and have a clean driving record. Experience teaching leadership skills in a wilderness setting preferred. Previous experience leading wilderness trips and/or student experience with NOLS, Outward Bound, or similar programs preferred. 

Qualifications

  • Dates: May 16-August 13, 2022
  • Pay: $410/week
  • Age: 21+

About Us: Camp Chief Ouray is the premiere overnight camp for teens located on YMCA of the Rockies – Snow Mountain Ranch’s property in Granby, Colorado. YMCA of the Rockies operates two globally-known conference & family centers that serve more than 250,000 guests annually. Our centers are located on both sides of the continental divide, with YMCA of the Rockies – Estes Park Center being on the eastern slope, and Snow Mountain Ranch being on the western slope.
