The objective of Wilderness Risk Management Conference (WRMC) Assistant is to help the WRMC Manager in event planning, marketing, and executing a three-day professional conference that brings together over 400 outdoor industry professionals to discuss managing and mitigating risk in adventure programming. The conference is held annually in October.

Ability to provide excellent customer service; comfortable initiating professional communication via email, phone, and in person
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with leaders at NOLS, Outward Bound, the Student Conservation Association, and other stakeholder organizations
Familiarity with Apple computers and ability to quickly learn and use multiple computer systems and applications
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation; an example is the ability to move items of up to 40 pounds from one location to another.
Preferred skills
Previous experience with one or more of these systems is preferred: Google Suite, Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), HubSpot, Sched, Nexus, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Previous experience with large meeting or event planning including on-site support.
Strong interest in outdoor education. Previous experience with NOLS, Outward Bound, SCA or other outdoor education programs
Assist with the logistical support for the Wilderness Risk Management Conference
Coordinates the conference registration process to ensure attendees are accurately registered and receive correct and timely communications
Performs data entry and payment transaction processing
Create, distribute, and manage conference participant surveys and evaluations and compile results
This position has a strong preference to be based at NOLS International Headquarters, in Lander, Wyoming. Remote work may be considered for applicants who are legal residents of: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, New York, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming. This is a 10 week, part-time position based in Lander, Wyoming. The position requires travel to the conference location to provide onsite support at the conference venue. The anticipated travel dates for the 2022 conference are 10/16/2022-10/22/2022 in Burlington, Vermont.
