Mentor and teach youth outdoor environmental science education as an Outdoor Program Instructor. Many of our students are denied come from schools and communities that face financial barriers and and access to high-quality STEM programs like Sierra Nevada Journeys. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that’s been around for more than15 years, we have a diverse client mix bringing a variety of opportunities and experiences daily, while positively impacting the lives of program participants.

Sierra Nevada Journeys’ camp is located in Northern California in the Plumas National Forest which is part of the Sierra Nevada mountains, just north of Lake Tahoe. Also, school-based programs occur out of our Reno, NV and Sacramento, CA locations.
Instructors live off site in homes in the nearby town of Portola, CA, with your fellow colleagues (included in your compensation package); you’ll have extensive BEETLES training – the unique research-based approach to teaching science by the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley.
