We’re looking for an outdoor adventurer to join our team and are currently accepting applications for an OUTDOOR PROGRAMS COORDINATOR role in the University of Vermont Department of Student Life!
The Outdoor Programs Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month position that is eligible for benefits, including tuition remission, BCBS health insurance, dental and vision insurance, retirement options, and more. This is a bargaining unit position, with an annual salary range of $44,000 – $50,000.
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Outdoor Programs, the Coordinator for Outdoor Programs promotes student leadership development and Outdoor Programs initiatives. The Coordinator serves as an advisor to student organizations, and assists the A.D. with the management of Outdoor Program facilities, leadership training, team building and outdoor skills courses.
The Coordinator also assists with all aspects of the TREK program, a 6 day pre-orientation program for incoming first-year UVM students. Additionally, the Coordinator supports the administrative tasks of Outdoor Programs including land use permitting, trip logistics planning, student employment, and other strategic efforts.

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
– Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
– Three years of experience in the field of outdoor education, experiential education, challenge course programming, administration, and/or facilitation.
– Experience as a leader/instructor trainer in at least two outdoor activities.
– Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, environmental stewardship and fostering a collaborative multicultural environment.
DESIRED:
– Experience in Higher Education setting, or with student leadership development.
– Wilderness First Responder.
– Formal training and certification (Level 2 Challenge Course rescue training, ACA, AMGA, PSIA, LNT…etc)
– Provider level for professionally recognized certifications (AMGA, ACA, PSIA, LNT, ACCT)
