Position Summary: Under the direction of the Adventure Director, the Rocks and Rope Facilitator will assist with facilitating climbing wall sessions, high and low ropes course elements, and facilitating our zip line program.
Essential Functions:
- Answering guest questions regarding Adventure Activities and other activities run by our Programs Department
- Facilitating both the Indoor and Outdoor Climbing walls
- Facilitating on our High Ropes Course
- Facilitating on our Low Ropes Course
- Facilitating on our Zip Lines
- Assist in program development and advancement
- Be comfortable working at height
- Attend and participate in staff meetings
- Know and adhere to policies and procedures set forth by YMCA of the Rockies
- Use a computer to assist guests in enrolling for Adventure Activities and enter data prior to and after activities
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must have up-to-date certifications in First Aid and CPR
- Must have a high degree of skill working with people of all ages
- Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards
- Must be able to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Preferred facilitation experience
Work Environmnet & Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to hike up to 3 miles per day
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of gear above your head
- Must be able to climb up to 60 feet in the air
- Must be able to converse with people of all backgrounds for up to 5 hours at a time
- Must be able to squat, stoop, bend and stand for long periods of time
